This afghan uses simple stitch, simple colours and simple construction but there is nothing simple about the overall finished product. Single crochet and chain are the only two stitches involved. The sampler look is achieved by switching out the accent lines in the block, mixing up the colours and doing some solid squares. Joining the squares in a contrasting colour adds visual appeal but could just as easily be switched out to blend in. Large enough for one or two to cuddle under while watching the fire.
